⛵ A Marine's reflection this Veteran's Day

Hi Reader,

On this Veterans Day, I'm taking a moment to reflect on a journey that's been anything but linear. My service in the Marines taught me about resilience, camaraderie, and discovering peace in unexpected places.

While stationed at Camp Pendleton, Britney and I joined a sailing club, exploring the San Diego Bay between deployments. It was more than a pastime; it became a newfound passion that stayed with us. This eventually led us to the world of bareboat charters, a way to blend the thrill of adventure with the serenity of the sea.

Today, as we honor our veterans, I'm reminded of the unique paths we all take after service – the different courses we chart. Whether it's sailing, starting a new career, or finding new passions, there's a story in each journey.

If you or your loved ones have served, I'd love to hear about the paths you've taken. Our experiences, diverse and rich, create the fabric of a community that understands the value of service and the beauty of life's next adventures.

Wishing you a day of remembrance and gratitude.

Hi Reader, I just got back from my very first trip to the USVI and BVI Crewed Charter Yacht Shows, and let me tell you—it was quite an experience! But before we dive into the highlights, I wanted to touch on a news items: First, a tragic reminder: late this past Friday, a dinghy captain lost his life in the channel between the BEYC and Saba Rock when his dinghy was T-boned by a speeding superyacht tender. While there's no excuse for the tender's reckless speed, it's a heartbreaking reminder...

Hi Reader, The countdown has begun! The end of hurricane season is approaching, and the new charter season is upon us. As the weather moderates, excitement is in the air, and the anticipation for upcoming charters is building. It’s that time of year when you can almost hear the gentle lapping of waves against the hull and feel the warm breeze as you set sail. Now, you might be able to outrace me close-hauled up the Sir Francis Drake Channel, but after 12 years of chartering, we've certainly...
