⛵ If Tahiti has been on your list...this is the window

Hi Reader,
Before we get into this—if you’ve got a BVI trip coming up, bookmark these. I recently built these tools myself since I've always wanted to use them for my own trips!
VI Ferries: all the routes and timetables in one place.
Cruise Ship Crowd Tracker: check the schedule so you can avoid crowds at popular spots such as the Baths, CGB, and White Bay
Baths Flag Status: check the daily flag update and view current weather info
Alright—this is something different.
If French Polynesia has ever been on your bucket list, this is one of those rare windows where it may actually makes sense to go.
Most people don’t realize this, but charter options out there are very limited. It’s not like the BVI where you’ve hundreds to choose from. In Tahiti, there are only a handful of solid crewed yachts—and many are at the higher end of the price range.
Purpose in BVI this past season
A yacht I know well, PURPOSE, is heading out there for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. They just wrapped a strong BVI season and are currently en route. Purpose is also a recent Best in Class winner at the fall yacht show.
They’ll arrive top French Polynesia late this summer, spend some time in the Tuamotus, and then move into the Society Islands—Raiatea, Taha’a, Bora Bora—the core cruising grounds.
A few things that matter:
Three crew on a boat this size (that’s a big upgrade in service)
Sleeps 8 comfortably with the potential for 10 under certain circumstances
An older yacht, but Purpose recently underwent a full refit including a fully refreshed interior and exterior
Strong lineup of water toys including underwater scooters, SUPs, and a clear 2-person kayak
A view from the top of Maupiti in the Society Islands
Why this is worth paying attention to
Pricing starts at $23,900 for up to 8 guests (all-inclusive). For a fully crewed charter with 3 crew members in French Polynesia, that is a very strong entry point.
And for my bareboat readers...this is where it gets interesting. A Bali 5.4 out there prices at over $30k, before adding your extras such as provisions. So this is one of the few scenarios where stepping into a crewed experience in unchartered territory can actually make more sense.
Timing and location details
Available July 2026 through October 2027
That means you could realistically plan a last minute summer 2026 trip
Christmas & New Year weeks still open
Rates will increase in June → current pricing can still be locked in

What a charter in Tahiti actually feels like
This is where Tahiti separates itself.
It’s the scenery—but it’s also what’s in the water.
You’re sailing through massive turquoise lagoons with volcanic peaks rising straight out of the ocean, but what really stands out is how alive everything feels. The snorkeling is on a different level—rays, reef sharks, huge schools of fish, coral that actually looks untouched.
Fishing between islands is just as wild. You’re not dropping a line hoping for something—you’re in waters where tuna, mahi, and even bigger game are actually there.
Most of your time is spent inside these protected lagoons—anchoring off motus, swimming in water that feels unreal, and just taking it in. It has that constant “this doesn’t feel real” factor.
An idyllic beach setting in the Tuamotus, where Purpose will be this fall
How this compares to the BVI
Many of you are familiar with chartering in the BVI. Short sails, tons of options, busy mooring fields, and a very social atmosphere. That’s why it works so well.
Tahiti is almost the opposite.
Fewer boats, fewer “must-hit” stops, and a lot more space between everything. Instead of hopping from spot to spot, you’re settling into an area and actually experiencing it—longer swims, better snorkeling, quieter nights.
There’s also just a different level of scenery. The volcanic peaks, the scale of the lagoons, the color of the water—it’s hard to compare.
If the BVI is your go-to for a fun, social charter, Tahiti feels more like a true escape.
Tahiti is one of those trips a lot of people talk about, but very few actually pull off—mostly because the right opportunity just doesn’t come up.
This is one of those situations where it does.
You’ve got a proven yacht, a strong crew, a unique destination, and pricing that actually makes sense compared to what’s typically out there. And if you are looking for a similar experience on a larger, newer yacht, check out CATALYST. She will be in French Polynesia from April - November 2027 with pricing starting a $54,500 for 8 guests.
If it’s even been somewhere on your list, this is worth looking at now while dates are open and current pricing is still available. If you want details or want to talk through timing, just reply here.

Hi Reader, After sharing my recap from MEDYS in Nafplion, I wanted to continue with the second part of our Greece yacht show experience: EMMYS in Poros. A Different Side of Greece Charters While MEDYS gave us a closer look at many of the larger motor yachts in the East Mediterranean, EMMYS has a different energy. The show is much more focused on crewed catamarans and multihulls, which makes it especially valuable for us when looking at Greece charter options for families, couples, and groups...
Hi Reader, Emilia here! As many of you know, our team has been in Greece over the past few weeks attending two of the most important charter yacht shows in the East Mediterranean: MEDYS in Nafplion and EMMYS in Poros. I wanted to start with a recap of MEDYS — the Mediterranean Yacht Show — and share a little bit of what the experience is actually like from a broker’s perspective. What a Yacht Show Really Tells Us MEDYS is not just about walking the docks and looking at beautiful yachts. It is...
Hi Reader, For those of you who may be new here, my name is Emilia — you’ve probably seen me in previous newsletters alongside Matt. But this week, I want to take you somewhere we haven’t talked about nearly enough: the Mediterranean. A quiet Greek anchorage Beyond the Caribbean: Why the Mediterranean Hits Different Most of our clients know us for the Caribbean: the British Virgin Islands, the Exumas, the USVI, and those warm, easy-going island-hopping trips we love so much.
