⛵ Bahamas Yacht Show Recap
Published 27 days ago • 3 min read
Hi Reader,
I just returned from the 2025 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show, held across several marinas in Nassau. While this show leans more toward motor yachts compared to the Virgin Islands events, there were still plenty of sailing and power catamarans available for charter. I’ll share some highlights below.
But first, a few updates from Yacht Warriors guests and readers fresh off their charters in the Virgin Islands:
Peter Island is back! After a long rebuild post-Hurricane Irma, the new facilities are top-notch. But there’s a catch—you’ll need to book a slip to access the Yacht Club's pool, pickleball, basketball, showers, and spa. If you’re arriving by dinghy or tender, your access is limited to the boutique and restaurant.
The bite is on! Fishing has been hot lately, with plenty of guests bending rods. Check out the photos below, and if you want to up your game, my BVI Fishing Tips will get you started.
More complaints about the Cooper Island mooring field. I’ve personally started avoiding it—there are just better places to spend a night. Yachts tend to spin unpredictably here, and if you want a visual, check out this timelapse video I shot last year.
Anegada sunsets always deliver
Assisting with the mooring ball pick-up at George Dog, a favorite lunch stop
This group crushed the wahoo, well done!!
Big swells make for great times at the Bubbly Pool, JVD
Nice blackfin tuna!
The 2025 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show
The Bahamas may not be as popular as the Virgin Islands for chartering, but for those looking for a change of scenery—especially seasoned VI sailors—it’s worth considering. The Exumas, in particular, offer jaw-dropping turquoise waters, abundant marine life, and a level of seclusion you won’t find in the busier Caribbean anchorages.
What to Expect on a Bahamas Charter
Fewer sailing catamarans – Power cats dominate the scene here for two key reasons:
They make the 30-mile crossing to the Exumas much faster.
Their shallower draft gives you access to more remote anchorages.
Higher prices – The 14% Bahamas Foreign Charter & VAT tax adds a noticeable premium to your trip.
That said, there are some truly stunning yachts available. Here are a couple of highlights from the ones I toured. If you want the quick version, check out this instagram reel, packed with photos from my trip.
Beautiful, brand new Two Oceans power cat with a unique beach house style salon. Fun crew with previous experience sailing the Virgin Islands. This cat will be available in the Bahamas through July, and then will be re-locating to BVI for the 2025/2026 season.
🛏️ Up to 6 guests in one king, and two queens (one convertible to a twin)
Hailing from Canada, this 2019 Lagoon 630 is based at Albany in Nassau, the exclusive development from Tiger Woods. They are very flexible on your itinerary and enjoy taking guests to hidden coves throughout the Bahamas where you can enjoy their large selection of water sports equipment.
🛏️ Up to 8 guests in four queens which includes one master suite
The power cat version of one of my favorite sailing cats, the Alegria 67, this Power 67 from Fontaine Pajot has beautiful lines and sleek finishes. Features include a hot tub and an expansive flybridge for lounging while underway.
This 2020 Bali 4.8 features an huge master suite which takes up the entire port side hull. Cuban owned and operated, this crew loves catching fresh lobster and fish for their guests. They'll teach you how to wing foil, and if you are really interested in getting off the beaten path, consider an escape up to the Berry Islands aboard Kittiwake.
🛏️ Up to 6 guests
💵 From 23,000/week, all-inclusive
You could fit your entire group on these flybridge loungers
This brand new Sunreef Supreme 68 offers distinctive, luxury finishes and an amazing crew of four to take care of you. It features a hot tub, expansive flybridge, and an exceptionally large, lavish salon for lounging. This yacht will be available in BVI beginning next month.

Hi Reader, No yacht charter in the BVI is complete without a stop (or five) at a legendary beach bar. Sometimes, there’s nothing better than liming away the afternoon, toes in the sand, drink in hand. Whether you’re after the perfect Painkiller, a cheeseburger in paradise, or just a quiet spot to soak in the last light of the day, the BVI delivers. After years of sailing these islands, I can confidently say these are my top 5 must-visit beach bars in the BVI. It’s hard to beat a...
Hi Reader, This week, we’re continuing our BVI Pirate Havens series with tales of Dead Chest Island and the storied pirate history of Jost Van Dyke. But before we dive into those legends, I wanted to share some thoughts about whether the Exumas might be the a good fit for your next charter. I’m en route this week to the Bahamas Charter Yacht Show to check out some yachts and meet the crews, and we’ve been seeing a rise in requests for this beautiful Bahamian destination. It’s one of my...
Hi Reader, I hope everyone had some well-deserved time off over the holidays! I have a fun update from the home front: we’ve officially inked the contract for our next yacht charter adventure, and I’m excited that we’re heading back to the Exumas in June for the first time since 2020. We’ll be aboard the exact same Bali 5.4 we chartered previously—you can read about that trip here. This time there is a twist. Instead of a couples trip, we're going with another family and I’m beyond thrilled...
